A path out of shame
and into recovery.
Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Disorder (CSBD) is often a disorder of loneliness, shame and a quiet loss of control. As a trained Sex Addiction Specialist, I offer a confidential, evidence-based, deeply non-judgemental space, to get assessed, to be heard, and to find your way back to yourself.

If any of these feel familiar…
Recognising patterns is often the first quiet act of recovery. You don't need to tick every box, if even one of these resonates, this work might be for you.
Reaching out for the first time can feel impossible. I promise you a private, judgement-free first conversation, at your pace, on your terms.
You feel out of control around sexual behaviour, and the relief you get is followed quickly by shame.
You've tried to stop, alone, repeatedly, and the relapse always finds a way back in.
Your behaviour is starting to affect your relationship, your work, your sleep, or your self-image.
You're carrying a secret you can't tell anyone, and the loneliness of it has become its own weight.
You'd like to be assessed properly, by someone trained, not just read another internet article.
You want to understand the roots, the trauma, the triggers, the patterns, not just suppress the behaviour.
A careful, five-part path.
No two recoveries look the same. But the structure of the work tends to follow these phases, woven together at the pace your nervous system can hold.
Assessment
A confidential, evidence-based assessment using CSBD-aligned screening, so we both understand what we're working with.
Story
Your history. The trauma underneath the behaviour. The relationships, beliefs and pressures that shaped where you are now.
Triggers
Mapping the patterns: when, where, with whom, after what. We build awareness before we build change.
Skills
Practical, CBT-rooted regulation skills, for the moments when willpower runs out and shame rushes in.
Integration
Repairing relationships, rebuilding intimacy, rediscovering pleasure that is yours, and yours to keep.
Tools, woven into your work.
CSBD work doesn't respond to one technique, it responds to a thoughtful integration of several, tailored to your story and your moment.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
To recognise the thoughts and beliefs that fuel the cycle, and gently rewrite the ones that no longer serve you.
Trauma-informed care
Compulsive sexual behaviour usually has roots. We tend the roots, paced to your nervous system, never rushed.
Relapse-prevention skills
Practical, repeatable strategies for the high-risk moments, so you have something to do, not just something to resist.
You will be treated with dignity. Always.
I have worked with shame as a clinical specialism for two decades. Whatever you bring into the room, you will not be judged, lectured, or hurried. The first session is about being heard, that's all.
Recovery isn't linear. But it is real.
Most clients begin to notice these shifts within the first 8–12 weeks of consistent work.
The cycle quiets
The compulsive loop loosens its grip. Days, then weeks, then longer stretches feel reachable.
Shame softens
You stop carrying the secret alone. The story changes, from "what's wrong with me" to "what happened to me, and what now?"
Intimacy returns
You begin to rebuild the kind of closeness, sexual, emotional, with yourself and others, that compulsion crowded out.
You feel yourself again
The version of you that the addiction obscured, your humour, your curiosity, your steadiness, comes back into focus.
For three years I'd carried this alone. The hardest conversation I've ever had was the first 20 minutes with Dr. Swapna, and the most freeing one I've ever had. She didn't flinch, she didn't fix. She just stayed with me. Two years on, I'm a different man.An anonymous client · Stockholm, 2024
